Privacy Notice
SLTR Digital LLC, doing business as Motium. Version 1.0.
This notice explains what personal information Motium collects, why, who it goes to, how long it is kept, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers three different groups of people, and the answers are different for each, so Section 1 tells you which part applies to you.
1. Which part applies to you
1.1 If you are a job applicant who was invited to a Motium interview by an employer, read Section 3. In that situation the employer decides what happens to your information and we act on their instructions.
1.2 If you work for an employer that uses Motium, or you are evaluating Motium, read Section 4. We decide what happens to that information.
1.3 If you visited our website, read Section 5.
1.4 Sections 6 through 12 apply to everyone.
2. Who we are
2.1 Motium is a product of SLTR Digital LLC, 696 South New Hampshire Avenue, Apartment 2811, Los Angeles, California 90005. Telephone 213.865.2778. We are a software company. We are not an employer of the people interviewed through our service, not a staffing agency, and not a consumer reporting agency.
3. Job applicants interviewed through Motium
3.1 Our role
When an employer uses Motium to interview you, the employer is the controller and the business, and we are the processor and the service provider. We process your information only on the employer's documented instructions, and only within the hard limits in Section 3.5, which the employer cannot override. The employer's own privacy notice governs what they do with your information once they have it.
3.2 What we collect
- Information you or the employer provide: your name, email address, telephone number, the role you applied for, and any resume, portfolio, or application material the employer passes to us so the interviewer can prepare.
- The interview itself: an audio recording, a video recording where the employer has enabled video, and a time aligned transcript.
- What the interview produces: a summary of the goals covered, extracts of your answers with timestamps, and a structured evaluation of the content of your answers.
- Session and technical data: the interview start and end times, device and browser type, connection quality, the model provider and model version used, and error logs.
- The attestation chain: cryptographic hashes of each event in the interview, linked in sequence and signed.
3.3 Where it comes from
From you, during the interview and in anything you submit. From the employer, who supplies your contact details and application materials. We do not buy data about you, do not scrape your social media, do not search public records about you, and do not obtain background, credit, or criminal history information.
3.4 Why we process it
- To conduct the interview you agreed to take.
- To produce the transcript and the evaluation and deliver them to the employer who invited you.
- To create and maintain the signed interview record, so that what happened in your interview can be verified later and cannot be altered after the fact.
- To let you obtain a copy of your own recording and transcript, and to carry out your deletion request.
- To keep the service secure, detect misuse, and fix faults.
- To meet our own legal obligations and to respond to a lawful legal demand.
3.5 What we never do with it
- We never use it to train, fine tune, or evaluate any AI model, ours or a third party's. The providers that power the interview do not train on it: the speech provider keeps no recording of the call and deletes its transcript within a day, and the model provider does not train on it and keeps it only for the limited period its terms allow for abuse monitoring.
- We never sell it and never share it for cross context behavioral advertising.
- We never disclose it to any employer other than the one that invited you.
- We never build a candidate pool, talent marketplace, or searchable resume database from it. If the employer offers to contact you about other roles at that employer and you say yes, only that employer may contact you, and you can withdraw at any time.
- We never analyze your face, expressions, body language, appearance, background, tone, pitch, pace, accent, or fluency, and we never infer your emotions or personality.
- We never create a biometric identifier from your voice or face, as that term is defined in the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.
- We never collect or infer your race, religion, age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy or family status, childcare arrangements, immigration status, criminal history, or any other protected characteristic. If you volunteer one, it is excluded from the evaluation.
3.6 Who we disclose it to
- The employer who invited you, which is the point of the service.
- Our service providers, under written contracts that bind them to the same limits: cloud hosting, speech to text and text to speech processing, model inference, real time video transport, GPU computing for the interviewer's video, and transactional email and messaging. The current list is available on request.
- Our legal counsel, auditors, and insurers, under confidentiality, where needed.
- A court, regulator, or law enforcement agency, only in response to a valid legal demand, and only after we have notified the employer and given them a chance to object, unless we are legally prohibited from telling them.
3.7 How long we keep it
Four years by default, from the later of your interview date or the employer's decision date, unless the employer has set a shorter period where the law permits. The four-year default exists because the California Civil Rights Council regulations on automated decision systems require employers to retain these records for four years, and because federal and state record keeping rules for selection procedures run for shorter periods inside that window. You can ask for deletion at any time and we will carry it out within thirty days, including from backups within the backup cycle of up to thirty-five days, unless a legal hold prevents it, in which case we will tell you. After deletion, only content free hashes remain, so that the chain stays verifiable without holding anything you said.
4. Customer contacts and prospective customers
4.1 For this group we are the controller. We collect your name, business email address, telephone number, employer, job title, the content of our correspondence with you, and account and billing records. We get it from you, from your employer, or from a public professional source such as a company website.
4.2 We use it to respond to you, provide and support the service, administer the account, invoice, maintain security, and comply with law. Where you have asked to hear from us, we use your business contact details to do so, and every message has an unsubscribe link.
4.3 We keep account and correspondence records for the length of the relationship and then for four years, and billing and tax records for seven years.
4.4 We do not sell this information and do not share it for advertising.
5. Website visitors
5.1 We collect your IP address in truncated form, browser and device type, pages viewed, time on page, and the site that referred you. We use this to keep the site working and to understand which pages are read.
5.2 We use only strictly necessary cookies and first party analytics by default. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and software libraries from the jsDelivr network, which receive your IP address when your browser fetches them; we are moving these onto our own servers. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not use third party advertising cookies, and we do not build advertising profiles. Where consent is required for any non-essential cookie, we ask for it before setting the cookie and the default is off.
5.3 We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt out request from browsers that send it.
5.4 Website logs are kept for twelve months.
6. How we protect information
6.1 We encrypt data in transit using current TLS and at rest using AES-256 or equivalent. Access is role based and granted on least privilege. Administrative access requires multi-factor authentication. Every access to interview data is logged. Production data is never used in development or testing. Access is reviewed at least annually and revoked when someone leaves.
6.2 The signing key for the attestation chain is held separately with restricted access. If it is ever compromised, we will publish that fact, rotate the key, identify the affected range of records, and notify every affected employer within twenty-four hours of confirming it.
6.3 No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify the employer without undue delay and in any event within forty-eight hours of confirming it, and we will support the notifications the law requires.
7. Your rights
7.1 If you are in California
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you have the right to know what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, and sold or shared about you; to receive a copy in a portable form; to correct inaccurate information; to delete it; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and not to be treated differently for exercising any of these rights. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information for any purpose that triggers the right to limit, because we do not collect it. You may use an authorized agent, and we will ask for proof of authority and verify your identity.
7.2 If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Where we act as processor for an employer, direct your request to the employer and we will assist them. You may complain to your supervisory authority. Our legal bases are: performance of a contract, for account and service data; legitimate interests, for security, service improvement that does not involve your interview content, and business correspondence; consent, where we ask for it; and legal obligation, where a law requires the processing.
7.3 Everyone else
Wherever you are, you can ask us for a copy of your interview recording and transcript, and you can ask us to delete them. We do not limit those two requests by jurisdiction.
7.4 How to make a request
Email privacy@motium.io, write to SLTR Digital LLC, Attention Motium Privacy, 696 South New Hampshire Avenue, Apartment 2811, Los Angeles, California 90005, or telephone 213.865.2778. If you were interviewed, tell us the employer and the email or phone number you used, so we can locate your record. We acknowledge within ten business days and respond within thirty days, extendable to forty-five where the law allows, in which case we will tell you why.
8. Automated decision making
8.1 Our software conducts the interview and produces an evaluation. It does not decide anything. No application is rejected, advanced, or ranked as final by software alone. Our contracts require every employer using Motium to have a human being review the interview output before any decision is taken, and the service contains no setting that permits automatic rejection.
8.2 The evaluation is based on the content of what a candidate says, measured against goals the employer set before any candidate was interviewed. The same goals are used for every candidate for that role.
9. International transfers
9.1 Our systems are hosted in the United States. If information reaches us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the transfer is covered by the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, and by the United Kingdom International Data Transfer Addendum where it applies, as incorporated into our agreement with the employer.
10. Children
10.1 Motium is not directed to anyone under eighteen and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen. If we learn that we have, we delete it. If you believe we hold information about a minor, contact us using the details in Section 7.4.
11. Changes to this notice
11.1 We will post any new version with its effective date and keep prior versions available. If a change materially affects how interview data is handled, we will notify every employer using the service at least thirty days before it takes effect. For any interview already conducted, the version in force on the day of that interview continues to govern it.
