For candidates

Invited to a Motium interview? Here's what to expect.

A Motium interview is a conversation of about thirty minutes with an AI interviewer, on video, at a time that suits you. You can pause, turn your camera off and ask about the role. A person on the hiring team makes the decision, not the AI.

Before you start

·
Your link works for seven days. Take the interview whenever suits you within that time. There is nothing to schedule.
·
What you need. A laptop or phone with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and a quiet place to talk.
·
Have your photo ID ready. Before the interview you'll photograph a government-issued photo ID and take a selfie, checked by Stripe, our identity partner. No ID? Reply to your invitation and the hiring team will confirm who you are another way.
·
On a computer, you'll share your whole screen. It's recorded with the interview, so the recruitment team sees exactly what you saw. On a phone there's nothing to share.
·
Fair play. We note if you leave the interview page, paste text, or if a phone, another screen or another person appears on camera. A person on the recruitment team reviews anything noted; nothing is decided automatically. A person on the recruitment team reviews anything noted; nothing is decided automatically.
·
It is recorded. The interview is recorded live for review by the recruitment team.
·
What to wear. We strongly advise dressing as you would for an in-person interview.
·
Nudity is not allowed. Misconduct on camera ends the interview, and the person and their IP address will be banned from future interviews conducted on the Motium recruitment platform.
·
Need assistance? Should you need any assistance with hearing, vision or anything else, please let us know in advance by replying to your invitation.
·
Try it first. A 90-second live sample with Wren or Steven is on the Motium home page. Nothing from it is recorded.
·
Be yourself. Let your personality shine through. Good luck.

During the interview

·
You'll be told at the start that your interviewer is an AI, that the conversation is recorded, and that a person on the hiring team decides.
·
It's a conversation, not a test. The interviewer asks about your experience and how you work, follows up on what you say, and answers your questions about the role, the team and the schedule.
·
You're in control. You can pause whenever you need a moment, and turn your camera off at any point.
·
Some things are never asked. No questions about your age, family, children, health, religion, where you're from, or any other protected subject. If you mention something personal, it stays out of the evaluation.

After the interview

The hiring team watches the recording, reads what you said, and makes the decision. You'll hear the outcome from the employer. Motium doesn't send scores or feedback to candidates.

How the evaluation works is public: how candidates are scored. Only job-related evidence counts, and things like nerves, accent or how polished you sound never do.

Your privacy

Only the employer's hiring team sees your recording and transcript, in their own workspace. Recordings and transcripts are kept in private storage. You can ask to have your personal details deleted at any time by writing to privacy@motium.io. The privacy notice has the details.
